Derek A. Newman, Principal / DirectorDerek oversees Zevia's operations, finances, marketing, and business development. Before co-founding Zevia,
Derek founded and managed the Newman & Newman law firm
which he built to 11 lawyers. As an attorney, Derek litigated high
stakes intellectual property cases and represented clients in corporate transactions.
Derek coaches his kids' t-ball and soccer teams, and participates in Puget Sound area triathlons and half marathons.
He is a Zevia founder, and his favorite Zevia® flavor is Root Beer. |

Ian Eisenberg, Principal / DirectorIan is responsible for strategic planning. He was recently the president and founder of Blue Frog Media, a wireless and television entertainment firm, where he created the United States' first interactive TV networks Noyz and Bulla. Ian now sits on the board of directors for several technology companies. Ian and his lovely wife Linda have been together over 18 years and are the proud parents of three young boys. Ian and his family enjoy water sports, skiing and all activities outdoors. Ian is a Zevia founder, and his favorite Zevia® flavor is Cola. All three boys (Kats, Tad and Noah) prefer Orange. Ian is proud to serve on the board of directors for the Southwest chapter of the Boys and Girls Club of Seattle. |

Jessica V. Newman, Principal / DirectorJessica is a mother of three young children and a lawyer who co-founded the Newman & Newman law firm, where she oversaw its trademark practice.
She began her business career in consumer product sales for Helene Curtis (Suave®, Finesse®,
Degree®, Salon Selectives®). Jessica is responsible for Zevia® public outreach and
brand management. Jessica runs over 25 miles each week and competes in Puget Sound area half marathons.

Michael Spain, Director of Business and Legal AffairsMichael manages Zevia's legal affairs, including regulatory compliance, and contract administration. He also oversees Zevia's strategic relationships and human resources. Before joining Zevia, Michael practiced law advising clients with respect to the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act, especially concerning food and dietary supplement product labeling and marketing. He is a writer and editor, and has created content for legal and entertainment web sites. He consults on Zevia web content and marketing collateral. Michael and his partner, Glen, share a home on Seattle's Queen Anne hill with Hitchcock, their Siberian Husky. Michael's favorite Zevia® flavor is Orange. Click here to email Michael |

Jeff Taylor, National Sales ManagerJeff is a grocery industry veteran, having served on the front lines as a beverage broker, a vice-president of a regional grocery chain, and marketing executive for a leading online grocery store. He leads Zevia’s sales efforts by managing brokers and distributors, and planning sales strategies, promotions, and market roll-outs. Jeff is the father of two college aged girls. Brian Cartmell, DirectorBrian has founded and sold many businesses, mostly in technology fields. He also has a taste for soda, and was a substantial shareholder in a publically traded beverage company. Brian sits on Zevia 's board of directors where he assists the company in finance and consumer marketing and branding issues. Additionally, he is the CEO for two technology companies, Spam Arrest, which offers software and services designed to eliminate unwanted email; and MyPW, which provides a revolutionary Internet password authentication system. Brian's favorite Zevia® flavor is Cola. |

Will Weisman, DirectorWill brings a unique blend of investment and entrepreneurial experience to the Zevia board. Will currently runs two companies, Tonic, a consumer media company focused on the positive things happening in the world, and Phix, a health and wellness company that he founded in 2006. Prior to Phix, Will was a principal at Maveron, a consumer focused venture capital firm started by Howard Schultz of Starbucks and Dan Levitan. He began his investment career at Foundation Capital where he served as an entrepreneur in residence and later as a venture associate focused on business services and enterprise software. Before Foundation, Will enjoyed success as an entrepreneur having founded a venture-backed restaurant chain called World Wrapps. Over a three-year period, he helped invent and brand a new food product called the "wrap" and grow the company into a 30-unit business with over 600 employees. Will began his career at Intuit, at the time a growing 100-person organization, where he was involved in product management for the Quicken line. He received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from University of California at Santa Barbara. Jamie Otto, Operations Manager (a/k/a Awesome)Jamie assists with ZEVIA production, oversees logistics (moving Zevia® from production to distribution centers), and manages the Zevia® online store.
She is also responsible for customer service, including answering consumer questions and helping customers with telephone and online store orders.
Jamie earned a chemistry degree from Washington State University, and her favorite Zevia® flavor is Root Beer. |
