Spiced Blackberry Negroni

Take a load off and relax with this delicious, no sugar added twist on a Negroni from our friend Holly and Flora. Bonus: you can use some of the tea-infused sweet vermouth in a loads of different recipes too!

Ingredients

Spiced Orange Tea-Infused Vermouth

  •  8 oz sweet vermouth 
  • 2 bags of spiced orange tea
  •  2 cracked cardamom pods 
  • 8 black peppercorns 
  • 2 star anise pods 

Sparkling Spiced Blackberry Negroni 

  • 6 fresh blackberries
  •  1 oz gin
  •  1 oz spiced orange tea-infused vermouth 
  • 1 oz campari 
  • 1/2 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
  •  1 can Zevia Blackberry Sparkling Water 
  • sprig of fresh thyme

Directions

Spiced Orange Tea-Infused Vermouth 

  1. Pour the sweet vermouth into a jar and add the tea bags, cardamom, peppercorns, and star anise pods. 
  2. Let the mixture for an hour or more, depending on taste. 
  3. Strain and remove the solid ingredients. Refrigerate until ready to use. 

Sparkling Spiced Blackberry Negroni 

  1. In a cocktail glass, muddle 4 blackberries. 
  2. In a mixing glass, combine the gin, campari, and infused sweet vermouth. 
  3. Add ice and stir until chilled. 
  4. Strain the mixture from the mixing glass into the glass with muddled blackberries. 
  5. Top off with lemon juice and Zevia Blackberry Sparkling Water. 
  6. Garnish with 2 skewered and a sprig of fresh thyme, if desired. Enjoy!
